Dump it Down the Sink!

This past week was a little rough for us. A lot of our appointments fell through and everyone seemed to be canceling on us. That is alright though. We still had some awesome experiences!

We had a good lesson with Jessica, she is so close to being ready to be baptized she just needs to get married. We taught her the Word of Wisdom and she was pretty sad about it haha. She told us she had a bottle of wine she had been waiting to drink a long with a lot of coffee. After we told her we could take them away for her she decided to just dump it all down the sink. I was so surprised but it was super awesome haha!!

We also found some awesome new investigators. Cody and Megan, we have never been able to actually sit down and teach them but we gave them a special marked copy of the Book of Mormon which only takes about 90 minutes to read through the whole thing. They ended up reading it all and now they want to come to church! It was so cool.

We also had to teach in combined 3rd hour this Sunday. We talked about member missionary work. Hopefully we will be able to see the ward act on the things we taught them!

P-day is today. We are just going to hang out at the church. We have to go to Jackson this week though, so that will be good!  The missionaries are good. I have met them and talked to them all for a little bit. We have 2 brand new missionaries from the MTC. Hopefully this transfer goes good!

Its awesome to see how Heavenly Father prepares his children to receive the gospel.  I love being able to see people make changes in their lives it is such a good feeling!

Thanks for all your support!

I'm Staying in Shreveport!

The past few weeks have been super awesome. The zone is killing it and we have been able to see some good success as a companionship as well. We had transfers this week and luckily I am staying in my area for another transfer!!:)

Elder Peck and I have been working super hard and trying to help people keep progressing. The progression is slow but ultimately it is happening so that is good. Our investigators are doing good. They are all starting to think about getting married. The Zone is doing awesome.  We just had a transfer, the zone is changing a lot. We are losing about half of the missionaries, so this week we will be getting  a lot of new missionaries coming in. I hope we can keep the work moving like it is! I am excited for this new transfer!

We didn't have anything too exciting happen this week, it is starting to get hot... its terrible.  On Tuesday we taught a really good lesson to Tom, he told us he was ready to start reading the Book of Mormon on his own everyday. We were super excited to hear that from him. He also showed us a pretty funny video of a parody of Dear Jude. It was about an Elder who got a  Dear John letter hahahah.

Thursday we had a pretty busy day. We taught some good lessons and then went to the Osburns for my birthday dinner! They are so awesome. I was surprised to know my Mom sent stuff to them for it haha. I even got a nice cheesecake from Cheesecake factory!:)  It was quite the surprise, that was pretty cool!  Thanks for all the things you sent and stuff, I had a ton of letters!! It was good!

On Sunday we went back to follow up with a potential who we had left a Book of Mormon that we had marked up the most important parts and put the pages to turn to on the bottom. When we went back she had read the entire thing we had marked up!

We have been seeing so many miracles lately and I am so grateful for the gospel!

Love you!!
Thanks for everything!!!!

Happy Birthday Week!

Hello everyone!! This week was awesome!

On Tuesday we had interviews with President Olson and that was really good. After that we went up to New Boston to go on exchanges!

On Wednesday we went to Texarkana for ZTM and that went really good. I still get nervous standing in front of people. I think it is just something I am cursed with haha. When we got home Wednesday night we had President Olson come out with us to a few of our lessons. We taught Tom and that was really good. President really connected with him, I think we made some progress. We saw Jessica and that was an interesting lesson, we were teaching her and then she asked us about not being married she said "so after I am baptized and I am not married is that going to be a problem?" we then had to tell her that we were going to move her baptismal date because she cant be baptized unless she is married or moved out. She started crying and was really worried about it. I felt super bad! After her we went and saw Cody and Kelsey and they are doing great! We taught them the Law of Chastity and they both are ecstatic about getting married!! So it will be really cool to see them continue to progress!

On Sunday Jessica, Tom, and another person we are teaching named Cory came to church! Jessica told us that she is getting married there. Her boyfriend decided to propose to her after she talked to him about it!

Overall it was a really good week We had some really good lessons. The Zone is killing it. They are all doing really well! We had to go up to Texas so we’ve had a pretty busy week.  We get to stay here the whole week so that will be nice!!:)  Again, I am glad I have the opportunity to serve. It continues to be such a blessing in my life!!
Thanks for everything. You don’t know how much I appreciate it!

Love you all!

Happy Mothers Day to My Mom!!

Hey everyone!

This week was awesome, we had a lot going on. On Wednesday we headed up to Texarkana to go on exchanges. I went with Elder Wells (my MTC companion) which was fun. It was cool to see how much we had both grown since the MTC! He is doing great!
Elder Wells and I!

Thursday we went to MLC in Jackson. So we got in the car for 4 hours..... Not a good way to spend a day haha. Once we got there we talked about a lot of policies.
Along the Mississippi River!

Friday we talked a lot about new finding ideas some of them are actually pretty cool. It will be good to try them out. It was good to see people again and get to talk with the other missionaries.

On Saturday we had a really good day! It was the only full day we got to proselyte. We taught some good lessons and found Jessica. She is honestly golden. She has been taught in the past by missionaries and her baptismal date fell through like 2 days before it was supposed to happen. She was able to request a Book of Mormon on line and when we got there to meet her she basically asked us if she could get baptized! It was really cool.

Sunday was just ok... we got to call home and that was alright then we had a meeting to plan and prepare for Zone Training Meeting.

Just kidding!! Sunday was awesome!! It was so nice to see my family and just hear their voices again haha. I was so happy to get to talk to them. 7 more months till next time!!
Having Fun with My Family!

Time is flying by but I am loving it!  I am doing great!:)  I am enjoying myself and am loving being able to serve the people here. As well as the missionaries, that's why I love being a zone leader. Aside from the stuff we have to deal with its so awesome to be able to help missionaries succeed and see them get success. That's one of my favorite parts and I feel like I kind of left that out yesterday so I am sorry. So just know that I am doing great and loving being here.  I'm grateful for the chance I have to serve and help others have the hope that I do. Its a good thing that we have the gospel in our lives.
The Awesome Osborn Kids!

Love you!!!:) Thanks for all that you do-you are the best!!:)

Have a great week!

Still Searching!

This week was really good!

We were able to teach a lot of good lessons and involve the ward a lot. We have this family that we are teaching, Cody and Kelsey, they have 2 kids who are pretty little. We have been teaching them and its so cool just to see them soak everything up. We took them on a church tour and they loved it, the only problem was their little boy was going crazy the whole time so it was hard for us, and them to concentrate.
P-Day Basketball with District

Basketball with Jonathan!

Wednesday and Thursday we went on exchanges with the AP's and that was good as always. Its always nice to learn from them. We had a good lesson with Tom. He is still searching for his answer if Joseph Smith is a prophet. He has been investigating the church for a year now and that, and drinking an occasional glass of wine are his only hang ups. We fasted with him this Sunday and it was cool to see our fasting and prayers answered. Literally almost everyone at church bore their testimonies about Joseph Smith in sacrament meeting. It was so awesome, but when we met with him after he said he still needed to search! Hopefully he continues to search for his answer.  We feel the spirit every time we teach him, he has been praying about it, but he still doesn't believe. He is a tough one.
Splits with the APs

I am doing good! Things have been good. The zone has been doing a whole lot better. I have been so tired lately.  I sleep great. I just don't get to sleep until 11-11:30. We have so much stuff to do that we just get busy and don't get to bed on time.

We had a really good week last week but sadly only one person came to church.  We go to Jackson for MLC this week, and we also have an exchange in Arkansas so we wont get to proselyte much here.

I hope you are all doing well!  I will talk to you next week!

LOVE YOU!
